For Nat (Megan Purvis), turning twenty should be something to look forward to. But after a recent suicide attempt, Nat will be spending her birthday sectioned; monitored twenty-four hours a day in a psychiatric hospital. Pressured by her friends into escaping, Nat finds herself at a secluded campsite, where the group plan on having a relaxing weekend by the lake. What they didn’t plan on, was being tricked into eating burgers made of human flesh. They are told their unknowing act of cannibalism has summoned a Monster; an unrelenting supernatural creature, which will hunt them to the ends of the Earth. Abandoned in the wilderness, alone and vulnerable, Nat and her friends must fight for their lives if they wish to make it out of the woods.
With a strong ensemble cast and a strikingly ominous electric score from Gabe Castro, The Young Cannibals is an exciting, fast-paced survival horror from exciting new directors Kris Carr & Sam Fowler. Alongside Megan Purvis, the film also stars Samuel Freeman, Hannah Louise Howell, Benjamin Sarpong-Broni, Kim Spearman & David Patrick Stucky.
